Speech Therapist Assistant
Shahin has been working as a Speech Language Pathologist and Audiologist after graduating from Manipal college of Allied Health Science, Manipal University (MU)-India, in 2012. She also had a paper entitled “Quality of Life in Tracheoesophageal Speakers,” that was presented in Mumbai in 2012.
Shahin has completed a certification course under the title of “Voice Rehabilitation after Laryngectomy.” After pursuing her Bachelor’s degree, she worked for 6 months in a private home- based therapy setting with the pediatric population in India. She has 2 years’ experience working in a special education school in Dubai that consists of having children with Autism Spectrum Disorders, Cerebral Palsy, articulation disorders, hearing impairments and Downs Syndrome. She has experience performing audiological assessments and other speech and language diagnostic evaluations with both the pediatric and adult populations.
Shahin is familiar with conducting interventions, assessment and evaluation as well and developing treatment plans and therapeutic goals. She also has experience in creating IEP goals for children with special needs. Shahin has also worked with adults with voice disorders, dysphagia, aphasia and acquired stuttering. She has worked with several multi-disciplinary teams which included Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Teachers and Behavioral Therapists.
Shahin is a member of the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) and All India Institute of Speech and Hearing, India (AIISH).
