Santiago Zamora Jr
Santiago Zamora is both a Licensed Occupational Therapist and a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT). He started his Occupational Therapist career in 2003 at Fatima Medical Center, Philippines.
After working for 6 years as Occupational Therapist, he was able to work in Bahrain as a Private Therapist (home-based) for 2 years from 2010 to 2012. In Bahrain, he was able to undergo formal ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) training and completed an ABA Certificate from ALIA for Early Intervention. He was responsible for improvement and maintenance of his clients’ goals and objectives for day to day activities along with their well-being. He was also responsible for the improvement of his clients’ cognitive, physical, sensory, motor skills and enhancement of their self-esteem and sense of accomplishment by strengthening their self-determination and decision-making skills, and enhancing their overall independence. He has also worked with his clients in helping with vocational planning and transitions in the work environment, such as working in a coffee shop. He also collaborates with parents/caregivers and other professionals in order to identify and meet the needs of his clients. He was also responsible for the development of his client’s treatment plans that involve the ability to cope with challenges and in using calming strategies to deal with frustration, defusing anger, and managing impulsivity.
In 2013, he began working for Stepping Stones Center for Autistic Spectrum Disorders, FZ, LLC in Dubai, as a Behavior Therapist. He currently is responsible for the data collection and implementation of ABA programs using modified Discrete Trial Teaching (DTT) and other related approaches. He also supports his clients’ assessment needs and clinical development for the company. He was able to complete Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) training in May 2015 through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
In early 2016, Santiago passed the DHCA exam and is now a Licensed Occupational Therapist at Stepping Stones Center. As an Occupational Therapist, he prepares the care plan and coordinates routine care and treatment activities for clients. He also provides occupational health teaching strategies to clients, family members and caregivers so that they understand the nature of the client’s areas of need and actively participate in their care plan. He facilitates the development and rehabilitation of physically disabled clients and he provides a full range of Occupational Therapy services including assessment, treatment planning and therapeutic interventions for various pediatric and adult conditions.
